Simmetry Isles, a New World, Sims3

Well, I have been so busy lately, but I have been tinkering with this little world for a couple months, off and on. I am close to completion, and am getting close to testing phases. I thought I would open a thread here, so I can show some pictures to gather interest and perhaps get some willing test subjects!

First the info:
Its on a tiny map, i wanted it tiny so it would be fast to load.
Its an island, again i thought no distant terrain would help with load times.
It has varied sized lots, including a 64x64 lot for legacy players  8 residential lots placed, but some room if you wanted 'tiny' lots.
Contains 9 community lots, i planned on having multiple rabbit holes per lot.
Style inspired by my real life area, and the coastal regions of washington and oregon.
For now, not built, completely empty. Final version will come  partially built.

My initial test was better than expected. I saw only one thing i didn't expect, a weird spot in the road, easily fixed... hopefully. Then just a couple lot tears, and some routing to fix and it should be ready for testers! Anyone can test, I would love a variety of systems to test this as my main goal was a smooth world with no lag, but still to be pretty. 

I also threw in a dive lot!! These were my favorite lots in Island Paradise, but the lag was too much for me to enjoy. So i quickly learned how to make dive lots in other worlds a long time ago, and had to relearn my technique for this lot actually. Enjoy some screens!

Community buildings will be the death of me >.<


So far the darker one, City Hall. the blue in the back, Police station, the little brown in the middle, a diner rabbit hole, and I have no plans for the green building yet XD



And a fire station? I think i hate it tho....

Ok here are some pics of the minor issues I had...






The lots look weird when zoomed out, but things look normal after I zoom in and it loads. Then my couple here didn't want to cross the street to get to the weather statue thingy. They went around to get to it. The last two pics are where the problem occurs.

THE LOT TEARS >.< I have tried sooo many time to get those damn tear outta there. I will end up camouflaging them i'm sure. Most go away when you get closer and the lot loads. but it is frustrating.

How was loading and did you notice any lag?

I see that you were in the water a lot, i was hoping i left enough room for a diving spot too.

Yeah I was hoping you would add some diving spots.

But no lag or long loading times. I'm still having that routing problem around that same spot. Do you have anyone else testing it?

yes, from tumblr. do you remember from which lot/spot you started to which spot you were trying to go? so i can try to recreate the issue? the first time i tested, i too had a weird routing issue and it was related to the weather stone... but when i loaded the game again, and the stone spawned somewhere else, the routing in the first spot was fine.

It looks like the same spot, but I'll do it again and see what lot it is and if the weather stone is the cause of it.

i hate that weather stone, i always delete it. >.<

I just added a ridiculous amount of spawners, loading for a quick test to make sure i didn't lag this waaay down

I tested out the last version you gave me and it did the same thing around this spot....




Other than it works. How's building going? You need any help? I suck exterior stuff, but I'm a pro at interior. xD

haaay! i tried to recreate, but no luck. hopefully buildings will help? i dunno.

I need to take note of community locations that are most common and liked. This world is for us, the modelers of this forum, so your input is crucial!  


So far i have basic city functions, city hall, police, fire, school, military, all these are on one huge lot with custom rabbit hole rugs to conserve space.


What else?

Some Mom and Pop Businesses? I created several small businesses. Like 20x20 small. One of them is a library, except the owner can also write stories and stock the shelves with them. Also created a fancy restaurant that has the rabbit hole in the basement and a few others.

i need to get back to working on this. I got sidetracked making some CC for it, i am building a detailed lot that will only be released here, its a photo studio, modeling hangout with complete changing rooms, and a bistro. i thought it would be neat to have it only available for download to anyone on this site, since i want the world for modeling, i thought it was appropriate!

it's so cool that you're making it though, CAS intimidates me so much!
